The men’s round of the German Grappling League took to the floor at FIBO Power in Cologne Saturday, resulting in large men pulling each other to the grouns. Participants were split up into five weight classes: 65 kilograms (143 lbs.), 70 kg. (154 lbs.), 75 kg. (165 lbs.), 85 kg. (187 lbs.), and over 90 kilograms (198 lbs. and up).

Grappling is a sport that combines elements of ring disciplines such as judo, wrestling, Brazilian jiu jitsu and luta livre. The goal is to physically place pressure on the opponent without hitting or kicking them. Grappling is popular as a self-defence discipline, and reportedly rarely results in any injuries.

This is the fourth year that the German Grappling League has been running at FIBO Power.
